Doane College Student Activities Council

The Student Activities Council is responsible for providing students with exciting and fun activities in their free time. We bring in several performers each year as well as hosting regular Bingo Nights, Isis Movie Nights, and other events. SAC meets on Wednesday nights at 9:00 in the Perry Boardroom.

Announcements

8/9/09:  The SAC calendar is temporarily down due to Doane's conversion to Google Mail and Calendar.  We hope to have it back in operation ASAP.

7/23/09:
  We would like to welcome Amy Schmitt as the new SAC adviser!

7/20/09:  Are you ready for the schoolyear to start?  We are!  We've got a bunch of amazing programming for you, and it's all FREE!  We're kicking it off fast with a new program called Funny Fridays, during which we will be bringing a comedian to perform at Common Grounds EVERY FRIDAY during the month of September!  Be there!

3/4/09:  Congrats to the 2009-2010 SAC Officers!  They were elected on March 4th and will be your leadership in everything regarding SAC next schoolyear!

Funny Friday:  Rob O'Reilly~Friday, September 4th @ 8:00~Common Grounds

With an appearances on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham and NBC’s The Tonight Show as Jay’s correspondent, 23 year-old Rob O’Reilly is quickly gaining a reputation as an up-and-coming comedian to watch in New York City. It all began in Cleveland, Ohio, where Rob made his stand-up debut at a high school talent show and later won the city’s largest comedy competition. While attending Boston University on an academic scholarship, he became a finalist in the 2005 Boston Comedy Festival and retired any notions of a "normal career." With his youthful point-of-view making him a favorite at three NACA conferences, Rob now headlines colleges across the country. His first comedy album Strip Solitaire debuts on iTunes in 2008. Residing in New York, he also enjoys playing in a comedian basketball league and performing sketch comedy with his group The Straightmen.
